At Kountry Kraft, sustainability is more than a responsibility—it’s part of who we are. Since 1959, we’ve honored the land and community that shaped our company by crafting cabinetry with care for both people and the planet.

Our environmental stewardship extends through every stage of production, from material selection to finishing and recycling. We’re proud to integrate environmentally safe practices throughout our operations:

• Low-VOC and Low-HAP Finishes: All Kountry Kraft stains contain some of the lowest levels of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and HAPs (hazardous air pollutants) in the cabinetry industry today.
• Formaldehyde-Free Finishes: We offer a formaldehyde-free acrylic polyurethane finish that’s non-yellowing, highly durable, water-resistant, and environmentally responsible—preserving beauty without compromise.
• Waterborne Finishing Systems: Our waterborne finish provides the same luxurious appearance and strength as traditional finishes while eliminating added formaldehyde and minimizing environmental impact.
• CARB II Compliance: All plywood and materials meet or exceed California Air Resources Board (CARB II) standards for air quality and emissions.
• Recycling and Energy Efficiency: Kountry Kraft recycles wood, metal, cardboard, and finishing by-products to minimize waste. Scrap wood is repurposed to heat our manufacturing facility and finishing ovens. Cardboard is reused for packaging and shipping, and all additional recyclables are sent to local facilities.
• By-Product Distilling Program: Our lacquer thinner is distilled and reused to clean finishing tools—reducing waste and improving efficiency.
• Reduced Energy Use: We continually evaluate and optimize our processes in collaboration with our electric supply company to lower energy consumption.
